Kinoramica, Made With Love

In Architecture & Design by Isabella Moreno

Kino is a ceramics workshop that is inspired by nature, beauty and the simplicity of the earth that surrounds us. Through the ancient art of making objects from mud, Kino has found a way of expression that is functional and durable. Each ceramic piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. The hands of the founders of Kino is involved in the making of each piece, from the design and shape to the function, texture and color that makes them functional sculptures and the shape of each piece is inspired by an idea or personal experience.

The objective is the poetry of the object; irregular and one-of-a-kind objects such as sea waves or a desert dune. In this way, a moment or an idea becomes the subject. The philosophy of Kino is to create handcrafted pieces that emanate the irresistible beauty of uniqueness. All of this can only be achieved with handmade objects, integrating the essence of each one. At Kino‘s atelier everything moves at the time of mud and forms part of the culture’s “slow movement.” It is to get to know where the objects come from, how they are produced and who produces it. It is the value of the objects with soul.
