Founded by chef Paulina Márquez with Feliz as cook, Degú opened its doors in 2014 at La Condesa neighborhood. The foundation of this restaurant is to offer delicious and healthy homemade food at a reasonable price. Today five years later, they open its second location at the trendiest district: La Juárez.

Now a days Degú has over 1,500 clients a month and they employ more than 30 people, concentrating in teamwork and allowing the cooks (all woman) to learn and have a new opportunity of growing. From breakfast to dinner all the recipes are made using local suppliers, the main objective is to make you feel like you were visiting a friend’s house.

Degú is more than a restaurant, as their goal is to offer typical dishes from the day to day Mexican homes, with a more a natural twist. The idea is that clients can feel the warmth of homemade dishes at a restaurant. Apart from the restaurant different experiences can be hired like cooking parties (with friends or family), special events (baby and bridal showers, birthday dinners, among others), Chef for a day (be a cook for a day and make food for your loved ones) and gastronomic experiences (pop ups).

Healthy and delicious breakfast options

They plan on opening four more locations, following the same pattern as the existing ones, a busy area for office workers, tourists and pedestrians. If you are an 8 hour a day worker who just wants to eat at a cozy place that offers amazing yet simple plates at a fair price Degú will be, without any doubt, your new favorite place. It is also very popular for its breakfasts, the perfect weekend brunch as you can also take your furry best friend with you.
