Renowned Pro Surfers Share Their Skills at One&Only Palmilla

In Los Cabos, Play, Stay by Suzanne Koch

One&Only Palmilla has partnered with TropicSurf for a series of exclusive surfing programs led by renowned professional surfers. Throughout the month of June, guests had an unforgettable opportunity to take surf lessons and ride alongside world famous surfers including Felicity Palamateer, Vahine Fierro, Laura Enever, and Tatiana Weston-Webb.

The resort’s ongoing Art of Luxury Surfing program welcomes guests of all surfing abilities, from novice riders seeking first-time lessons to advanced surfers looking to perfect their style. Participants have the opportunity to meet, hang out, and hit the waves with the pros. As one of the most beautiful and popular surfing destinations in the world with year-round warm waters and several diverse point breaks, Cabo is a great place to catch a wave. But with One&Only Palmilla boasting one of the only swimmable beaches in the region, there’s no better place in Cabo to hop on a board.

The recent experience took place in conjunction with the Los Cabos Open of Surf. Take a look at the guest pros and what they each brought to the water.

Felicity Palamateer

An internationally renowned surfer and record holder, Palmateer made history in December 2016 as she surfed her way into the final of the first ever WSL Women’s Big Wave World Championship at Jaws, Maui placing third while riding the biggest waves ever surfed by an Australian female surfer.

Vahine Fierro

At 18 years old, Fierro became the first ever Tahitian to win a WSL World Junior title.

Laura Enever

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Enever is a two-time World Junior Champion, Australian Champion and Pro Junior Champion and is one of the best and most influential female surfers in the world, consistently finishing in the Top 10 on the WSL Women’s World Tour.

Tatiana Weston-Webb

Taking home second place in the Los Cabos Open of Surf, Women’s Surf League division, Weston-Webb has also topped the women’s list at No. 1 on SURFER Magazine’s Hot 100 Young Surfers in 2016. The Brazilian-born surfer has quickly made a name for herself and has competed and placed in the Vans US Open, as well as the WSL Championship Tour.

Located on Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, One&Only Palmilla offers sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez and some of the most luxurious accommodations in Mexico. In addition to expert instruction in the art of surfing with TropicSurf, One&Only Palmilla offers bespoke wellness experiences, a sanctuary-like spa with treatments inspired by ancient traditions coupled with modern techniques, a choice of world-class culinary offerings and warm, gracious Mexican hospitality.
