Coleccion Serpentina: Conscious Design

In Architecture & Design by Ali Madrazo

Mexicans are creative by nature; we like to reflect our vision into products that give harmony to a space and stand for its aesthetic and creative process. Yolanda Resendiz Barron and Jesus Renteria Franco are the creators of Coleccion Serpentina, a Mexican company that specializes in the production and marketing of decorative products made of colorful strips of paper that are rolled and molded by hand. Boxes, jars, vases, artwork and other products with original shapes stand out for their beauty and creativity and are all made through a process where quality is not compromised. All of the material used is exploited in full and utilize ecological varnish, not generating waste or pollution. The serpentine is one of the most traditional elements in Mexican celebrations, and from this fun object is where the brand takes its name. Its contemporary design perfectly blends ancient Mexican roots with innovation. Each project by Coleccion Serpentina is a story of memories and emotions that become tangible through its shapes and colors. The designers take their references from everyday experiences and give each piece an identity that is transformed to give a new meaning to the traditional craft values. The Mexican brand has had the opportunity to take part in major national and international platforms such as the MoMA in New York and Fuori Salone 2016 in Milan, among others. Soon its entire collection will be available in its first store, which will be located at Av. Nuevo Leon # 144, Col. Hipodromo Condesa. We are very excited to experience it!
