José Bermudez: Designing With Love

In Architecture & Design by Isabella Moreno

José Bermudez is an industrial designer who has the talent and dedication to achieve exceptional works of great quality in a short amount of time. He studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and at the University of Leonardo Da Vinci in Florence, Italy and in Sweden. All of his work is done with love and absolute precision, always looking for the essential ingredients in each project, looking to find the simplicity and emotional bridge between the object and the user.

His career started when he worked at the ESRAWE architecture office at the industrial design department. He also participated in the Mexican Design Fair in 2017, in Milan Design Week and in different competitions always standing out for his elegant and simple lines.

Each of his projects are based on a philosophy that comes from the etymology of the word. For example, SONO chair. It comes from the verb “to be” in Italian and includes, “having moments of intimacy and rest.” The design reflects all of this, for example, an armchair where you can sleep, read, relax and recover from a long day, in addition to being a piece that can belong to different environments for its visual simplicity. José Bermúdez is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding young Mexican promises.
