Introducing another beautiful space by the recognized architecture firm, Taller Estilo Arquitectura, is Koala House located in the beautiful city of Merida, in the southeastern part of the country. This architect firm is well known for its amazing houses in this area of the country and for creating beautiful spaces such as Coqui Coqui and Hotel HO.

Koala House is situated on Street 41 in Downtown Merida and is one of the best examples of an old space that has been re-conditioned. The exterior acts as a new face of contemporary architecture in Merida, while on the inside the structure is full of history. The concept was to create a modern atmosphere without losing its original characteristic elements.

The interior uses a neutral color palette of white, beige, gray and terracotta to give a greater breadth and elegance to the space. The floors are made up of traditional handmade tiles that give identity and character to the space and distinguish each area while playing with the main colors of the walls in order to maintain an essence throughout the house. New areas were integrated with double height and open terraces to visually communicate all spaces.

The movements throughout the house were taken from the original structure and use the same space for different uses in order to meet the needs of the inhabitants. Koala House is a project that integrates elements and original materials with contemporary objects to achieve a connection with the context in which it is located.
