Surrounded by Nature

In Bridal by Ali Madrazo

If you are one of those people who like and appreciate every leaf, every flower, every stone and every element of nature, and also want them to be participants in your marriage bond, then you have to keep reading. Hacienda San Jose Cholul is located in the Peninsula of Yucatan, in south Mexico. It was formerly a plantation house and today it’s a luxurious boutique hotel that is part of the range of Luxury Collection Hotels from the Starwood chain. It is located near the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, so there is a peaceful and relaxing energy. It has 15 rooms to accommodate the main guests, while the ceremony can be held in the palapa, gardens, bar or restaurant, seating up to 400 people. The hacienda is surrounded by diverse vegetation, plus the open areas allow attendees to admire the starry nights, listen to the sounds of wildlife and perceive smells from the place and from the banquet they are delighting in. One of our favorite features of this destination is the traditional Mayan wedding, which is presided over by a priest accompanied by a folkloric ballet and a chorus of children singing traditional songs of this culture. Both the groom and the bride use typical clothing, guayabera and white hipil respectively. Beauty, joy, good food and excellent service—what else can you ask for on such a special day?
