Viceroy Los Cabos to Host Seventh Annual Gala de Danza

In Los Cabos, Play, Stay by Suzanne Koch

Gala de Danza is returning this April to Viceroy Los Cabos for its seventh annual event. Taking place April 4-6 and founded by performing arts visionary Christina Lyon, the gala brings together the world’s most talented artists from across the globe in Los Cabos for a spectacular three-day music and dance celebration.

Situated on the picturesque coast of Baja California, Viceroy Los Cabos features a dreamscape design embracing the natural beauty of water throughout every facet of the resort. During the anticipated Gala de Danza weekend of events, the resort transforms into an open amphitheater performance venue where guests can experience the excitement from the comfort of their hotel rooms or suites. The resort’s iconic walkways elevated over pools of water turn into an illuminated stage, commanded by the various dancers and musicians.

“We are honored to be the proud host of the sensational Gala de Danza event for the second consecutive year,” says General Manager Martin Kipping. “Los Cabos is a city full of vibrant, colorful culture, and we are thrilled to be able to help share it with the rest of the world.”

Since its inception in 2013, Gala de Danza has brought together extraordinary dancers, choreographers, and musicians from 20 different countries to share their talents and help enrich the lives of young dancers in the Los Cabos community. Each year, a portion of the proceeds are donated, in the form of dance scholarships, to local youth living in vulnerable conditions without the economic resources to pursue their talents.

Throughout the weekend, guests will experience performances by the glorious Mariinsky Ballet of St Petersburg, Russia; Principal Dancer of American Ballet Theatre; William Close of the mesmerizing Earth Harp; Principal Dancer of the Royal Ballet; opera soprano Yamel Kuri; multi-faceted classical pianist Jorge Viladoms; students from the University of Southern California’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance; and many more notable acts.
