World’s Most Expensive Taco Debuts at Grand Velas Los Cabos

In Dine, Los Cabos by Suzanne Koch

Grand Velas Los Cabos has recently debuted an opulent dinner experience that will set you back $175K and includes some of Mexico’s most loved delicacies—tequila and a taco, the latter of which is the world’s most expensive, costing diners $25K for the taco alone.

So what do you get for $25K? The tasty taco masterpiece is made with a gold flake-infused tortilla and filled with langoustine, Kobe beef, Almas Beluga caviar and black truffle brie cheese that’s all topped with an exotic salsa made up of dried Morita chili peppers, Ley.925 utra-premium añejo tequila and civet coffee. What’s more is diners don’t have to stop there. A hand-crafted white gold and pure platinum bottle of Ley.925 Pasión Azteca Ultra Premium Añejo pairs perfectly with the lavish taco for an additional $150K.

The pricy dinner for two was created by the resort’s Executive Chef Juan Licerio Alcala and is available at Frida, the resort’s gourmet Mexican outlet honoring the late artist.

So whether it’s celebrating a special occasion or indulging just because you can, we say spend the extra cash, sink your teeth into this golden delight and savor every bite.

Frida is open daily from 6 to 11 p.m. Reservations required.
