Tulum’s five-star luxury hotel Casa Chablé has been named among the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World.

Located south of Tulum in the Sian Ka’an biosphere, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Casa Chablé offers travelers the ultimate seclusion and immersion in nature, on an untouched stretch of Quintana Roo’s Caribbean coast. The biosphere is one of Mexico’s largest protected areas, home to lush green forests, pristine wetlands and lagoons, extensive mangrove stands, ancient ruins, cenotes, forested islets, sandy beaches, and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.

Founded by hoteliers for hoteliers, Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) is a collection of the most exclusive independent luxury hotels in the world. In its recognition, the Leading Hotels of the World noted Casa Chablé’s warm guest service and unique experience as a dream getaway that cradles both jungle and ocean.

“Only at Casa Chablé, on the property’s 12-acre tropical jungle oasis and beachfront location, can guests offer guests watch the sunrise over the Caribbean Sea and the sun set (preferably with a Champagne toast) over the shimmering Sian Ka’an lagoon on the same day,” the LHW’s property overview states.

The guest experience at Casa Chablé begins at the entrance to the biosphere, where guests are whisked away by private boat for a scenic 35-minute ride through lush mangrove forests before reaching the resort’s private dock. Here, guests enter the world of Casa Chablé, a pristine islet featuring five standalone beachfront villas with outdoor showers, and a main villa housing five guest suites, each with their own private terrace.

The property includes a thatched-roof gourmet restaurant, an oceanfront wellness cabana, gym, outdoor wellness esplanade for yoga and meditation, a new rooftop lounge and bar overlooking sunset views, as well as a 200-meter private beach dotted with canopy daybeds, tipis and hammocks.

Guests are invited to explore the surrounding Sian Ka’an biosphere with kayaks and small boats, while paddle boards and snorkeling equipment are available for ocean exploration. Set out on private adventures including canoeing through mangroves, fly-fishing in tranquil lagoons and discovering the ancient ruins of MUYIL and crystalline waters of the Laguna Kaan Luum.

Casa Chablé joins four other new hotels that were also welcomed to the Leading Hotels of the World this season, including two new U.S. properties, a new hotel concept in Madeira, Portugal, and a grand converted museum in Rome, demonstrating a boom in luxury hospitality openings worldwide.

“The Leading Hotels of the World welcomes 2024 with an array of brilliant hotels joining the collection. We are delighted to welcome this outstanding group of new members to LHW, consisting primarily of recent openings.” says Deniz Omurgonulsen, vice president of member experience at The Leading Hotels of the World. “This cohort includes LHW’s entrance into destinations such as Savannah, Georgia, and Tulum, Mexico, and further strengthens our presence in Europe. LHW is proud to champion independent hospitality and is excited to introduce new experiences to our curious travelers with these additions.”
