Hunter’s Moon Dinner at Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen

In Dine, Playa del Carmen & Tulum by Suzanne Koch

The arrival of autumn brings with it nights of glowing moons or “Las lunas de Octubre,” The October Moons. Widely recognized is the popular Harvest Moon, but another moon, more stunning and captivating in the night sky is the Hunter’s Moon, a slight variation on a full moon. Long regarded as a significant event in traditional folklore and a subject for astronomers, the Hunter’s Moon is often believed to be the most beautiful of all fall moons. Those in search of the illuminating sight have often chosen Mexico as it has become a popular travel destination for the fall sight. In fact, Mexican singer Pedro Infante even wrote a song about the beautiful moons and now you too, can celebrate the celestial sight.

In honor of the Hunter’s Moon, Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen is hosting a full moon dinner on Sunday, October 16 at the resort’s The Grill 1-26. The evening will feature a delectable menu designed by executive chef Corey Collins served at poolside tables for the best views of the Hunter’s Moon. With the resort’s prime location on Mamitas Beach, the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen is an ideal spot for peering up at the night sky and observing the moon and stars.
