Lifestyle hospitality brand, sbe has recently announced 10 new deals that will bring the sbe brand to Latin America and the Middle East. Among its new Latin America properties, sbe’s Mondrian brand will make its debut in Playa del Carmen. Plans call for a 100-key condominium hotel that will be located in downtown Playa del Carmen. In partnership with Howard Hospitality Group, the Mondrian hotel is set to break ground in the third quarter of 2018 with an expected opening date in 2021.
“We are focused on that mindset, the culture of service, the culture of being on the cutting edge of delivering a 360-degree approach and not just worrying about heads and beds,” says sbe founder, Sam Nazarian. “We feel the lifestyle space is really one that is resonating with both millennials and the luxury sector. People feel the authenticity of the way these properties are managed.”
Mondrian has locations in New York, Los Angeles, South Beach (pictured), London, Doha and a location in Dubai coming soon. The Mondrian hotel adds to sbe’s expanding portfolio including its SLS Hotel and Residences brand which includes SLS Cancun that’s set to debut in 2020 and SLS Mexico City Pedregal, set to open in 2021.
