Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita Announces New Executive Chef

In Dine, Puerto Vallarta, Stay by Suzanne Koch

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita has announced Chef Victor Garrido as the new Executive Chef of the property. With an exceptional career history including holding Executive Chef positions at The Cape, A Thompson Hotel, in Cabo San Lucas, and at the Gansevoort Turks and Caicos, Chef Garrido’s culinary passion has found him in some of the finest kitchens around the world, from Cancun to Kiev and from Cairo to the Caribbean. And now his over 16 years of experience creating extraordinary dining in some of the most famed luxury resorts around the world comes to Punta Mita.

A native of Mexico, Chef Garrido first discovered his love of cooking in the family kitchen, watching his grandmother create the traditional holiday dishes for family celebrations. Hospitality is in his genes, with both of his parents having had hotel careers, he found he was drawn to travel and resort living. But now he returns to Mexico, to a new home that he fell in love with instantly: “My first impression of Punta Mita was that it reminded me of St. Lucia, where I lived for two years… the views, the weather, I loved it right away.”

And the incredible dining options at Four Seasons Resort will only benefit from having Chef Garrido at the helm, as he arrives with an intention to motivate and mentor the staff, focusing on communication and empowering junior chefs to grow and achieve their culinary goals. But it won’t be all work and no play. Chef Garrido’s love of golf and jogging will pair perfectly with Punta Mita’s world-class golf courses and the running trail. We welcome Victor Garrido to our Punta Mita community and are excited to see Punta Mita’s superlative culinary scene continue to grow through the recruitment of some of the world’s top chefs and culinary talents.
