Everything Set for ZONA MACO 2020

In Architecture & Design by Ali Madrazo

One of the most anticipated weekends of the year is yet to come; if you are going to be in Mexico City from February 5th to February 9th, do not hesitate to visit the most important design, photography, antiques and art show in Mexico and Latin America.

The Citibanamex Center is once again the place in charge of receiving about 60 thousand people who want to know the most creative works of the contemporary world, as well as impressive old pieces and photographs that managed to capture unique moments; for the first time its four fairs will gather at the same time for visitors to know the entire proposals.

This year Zona MACO is committed to expand its content in order to offer people an enriching experience. In addition to the more than 210 galleries and hundreds of national and international exhibitors from 26 countries from America, Europe and Asia, the show will again have an extensive program of conferences and parallel activities in the most important museums and galleries of the cosmopolitan city. As in every edition, Zona MACO will develop a broad conference program, bringing together internationally renowned guests that will address current and art-related topics. There will also be awards for artists and designers, granted by different institutions. Amongst some of the speakers in the program are: Kate Fowle (Director of MoMA PS1), Olaf Breuning (Artist), William J. Simmons (Essayist, Poet, and Provost Fellow in the Humanities in the art history PhD program at the University of South California), Magali Arriola (Director of Museo Tamayo) and Zoë Ryan (Curator of the Art Institute of Chicago).

According to Zelika Garcia, creator of Zona MaCO, in addition to the original exhibitions, this year Foro will be presented, a new section created to foster “mid-career” galleries.
