New Flights to The Islands of Loreto Makes Getting There Even Easier

In Baja by Suzanne Koch

The Islands of Loreto are a stunning, under-the-radar destination on the eastern side of the Baja Peninsula along the Sea of Cortez. Travelers looking to visit soon can take advantage of new flights offered by Alaska Airlines and Volaris.

Alaska Airlines has added a second Saturday flight through April from Los Angeles International Airport. The two-hour flight leaves LAX at 11:55 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. PT. Those returning to Los Angeles from Loreto have the option of departing at 2:05 or 5:40 p.m. MT. The new flight joins other non-stop flights offered through Alaska Airlines and its connections.

Volaris is expanding its options effective Apr. 6. Its new Monday route from Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) will depart at 1:16 p.m. with a returning flight departing at 4:27 p.m. The new flight adds to Volaris’ already offered Tuesday and Saturday flights.

Other options for travelers looking to visit Loreto include Calafia Airlines from Tijuana and La Paz International Airport, and WestJet Airlines from Calgary International Airport (YYC).
