The Westin Resort & Spa Cancun is unveiling a new look after nine months of renovations. The beachfront resort redesigned all of its public areas, launched the new Arena Sports Bar & Restaurant and debuted Flowrider surf simulator.

“Following a nine-month refurbishment, we are delighted to offer guests a dynamic and rejuvenating experience that combines the sleek sophistication of the Westin brand with the natural beauty of our surroundings,” said Pedro Groschopp, general manager. “Following the total remodel of our public areas and enhancements to our recreation facilities, the resort is a standout in this sought-after vacation destination.”

Located at the southern end of Cancun’s hotel zone, the resort’s new lobby features stunning water views along with a palette of blue and green tones enhanced by a variety of marine accents.

Adding to the resort’s already extensive recreation and water-sport facilities, the new Flowrider surf simulator offers all ages the chance to hop on a board and experience the sensation of surfing in a safe atmosphere. Children as young as six can learn to body-board in the high-tech generator while adults can hop up on flow boards under the supervision of certified instructors.

The newly renovated Terrace and Lagoon Pool area offer several seating areas and stunning views of the Nichupte Lagoon and guests can enjoy the new infinity-edge pool and refurbished Brisas Bar. The hotel also offers signature amenities as part of its global Westin Family program that draws inspiration from the destination and nature to promote a sense of well-being.

For hungry patrons, the brand new Arena Sports Bar & Restaurant features a stunning bar made of recycled marine glass and a welcoming atmosphere for sports enthusiasts. Complete with large screen televisions, specialty cocktails and a diverse menu of classic American eats like burgers, baby back ribs and Westin SuperFoodsRX, the new spot is perfect for kicking back. The restaurant will also offer vegetarian, gluten-free options and artisanal ice cream.

Come spring the resort will debut 44 studio and two-bedroom villas which will be equipped with modern kitchens, washers and dryers, living and dining areas, spacious balconies and the world-renowned Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath, enhanced with the brand’s Heavenly Shower and White Tea Aloe amenities.
