Seven years ago, it was just a dream and this year on April 15 it became a reality. Hospital H+ is located on Carretera Transpeninsular at km 24.5 right between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. It was the dream of Paulino Davos Sayrols and Emiliano Zedillo to open a high-rise resort style hospital to help those in need of medical attention in Los Cabos, and now their dream is a reality.
The three level plus basement structure is located in the Koral Center and currently contains 20 spacious rooms with 24 beds. The great deal of space and comfort that these rooms offer could easily have the hospital mistaken for a luxury resort. The charming artwork lining the halls, the blue and white color scheme and the state of the art medical equipment all reflect the upscale vibe that H+ Hospital wanted to portray to patients. Recovery rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs, pull out sofa beds for family members to stay on, recliners, and most rooms have an ocean view.
H+ Hospital also has one labor and delivery room, four intensive care beds, three operating rooms and one room for endoscopic procedures. Emergency care is available 24 hours a day for observation, shock trauma, triage and diagnostics.
“Up until now you could ask locals where the best hospital in Los Cabos was, and most would tell you the airport because you had to fly elsewhere to get most medical procedures. H+ is going to change that belief. This is a project from the heart and we are going to operate it with heart, daily.” says the hospital’s marketing director Vanessa Vera Covarrubias.
Over 400 guests attended the hospital’s grand opening on April 15th with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a rooftop dinner and cocktail party. Uniformed personnel conducted tours and the Director of the Emergency room, Juan Carlos Arriola was on location to answer any questions for guests.
The Koral Center will soon be the place to be in the corridor and will include a Hampton Inn & Suites hotel by Hilton, approximately 15 different eateries and a handful of commercial shops for visitors.
