The Latest Status on Hotels and Resorts in Mexico

Many hotels and resorts throughout Mexico remain open and safe, implementing added sanitization and cleaning policies to comply with the World Health Organization. Many properties are deep cleaning and disinfecting areas on an hourly basis, adding in hand sanitizer stations, implementing social distancing policies, requiring associates to undergo daily temperature checks and more. To keep you up-to-date on the latest status of hotels around Mexico, we wanted to provide updates on closures and restrictions at some of our commonly covered hotels and outlets. Make sure to visit individual hotel sites for the most up-to-date info. And remember, don’t cancel, just postpone dates to help tourism out!

Please note, all beaches throughout Mexico have been closed through April 30.

Los Cabos

Note, all Cabo hotels are currently not taking reservations for the month of April. Alcohol can only be purchased from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at stores and supermarkets. Many restaurants are offering to-go packages and home delivery.

The Cape, a Thompson Hotel will temporarily close from March 23 through May 15, 2020. Read more here.

Flora Farms will temporarily close until further notice starting March 25. In the meantime, they will offer a complete to-go service with menu, bar and basket options. Read more here.

Nobu Hotel Los Cabos will temporarily close March 26 through April 30.

Viceroy Los Cabos has temporarily closed March 24 through April 30.

Hard Rock Cafe Cabo San Lucas will be temporarily closed. Read more here.

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is currently not accepting guests for a short period. Reservations are available for future dates. Read more here.

From now through April 30 (and possibly longer), Hotel El Ganzo will temporarily suspend operations. Read more here.

Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is temporarily closed and will reopen again as soon as possible.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos, Dreams Los Cabos and Breathless Cabo San Lucas are all temporarily closed with a reopening date of June 1. Read more here.

One&Only Palmilla has temporarily closed as of April 1 with a reopening date yet to be confirmed. Read more here.

All Pueblo Bonito Resorts and Quivira Golf Club have temporarily suspended operations through April 30.

Montage Los Cabos has temporarily suspended operations through April 30. Read more here.

JW Marriott Los Cabos is currently temporarily closed and will reopen again as soon as possible.

Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos is temporarily closed through April 30 and will welcome guests back starting May 1. Read more here.

ME Cabo and Paradisus Los Cabos are temporarily closed until April 12 and will be reviewed again then to determine a reopening date. Read more here.

Acre has temporarily closed until April 20.

Playa del Carmen & Tulum

Palmaïa – The House of AÏA has temporarily closed through May 31 and will reopen on June 1, 2020. Read more here.

For precautionary measures, some of the restaurants, bars and spa at Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen have temporarily suspended operations until further notice. Read more here.

Casa Malca in Tulum has temporarily closed starting March 22. Read more here.

Rosewood Mayakoba will temporarily operate in a limited capacity. The resort will require a 7-night minimum length of stay for arrivals through May 31, 2020 with a flexible cancellation policy of 24 hours prior to arrival. Read more here.

Thompson Playa del Carmen has temporarily ceased normal operations and is not currently accepting room, restaurant, bar, or other reservations at this time. The hotel will be accepting room reservations for stays from June 1 and beyond. Read more here.

All AM Resorts throughout Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cancun and the Riviera Maya have temporarily closed and will reopen May 15. Read more here.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Esmeralda, Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla, Paradisus Cancun and Melia Cozumel Golf are all temporarily closed until April 12 and will be reviewed again then to determine a reopening date. Read more here.

Puerto Vallarta & Punta de Mita

Secrets Vallarta Bay, Now Amber Puerto Vallarta, Sunscape Puerto Vallarta and Dreams Villamagna are all temporarily closed with a reopening date of June 1. Read more here.
