Which is why we rounded up some of the best cabanas Mexico has to offer—and they’re not all limited to poolside locations. These cabanas range from oceanfront to rooftop and they all happen to be located at some of our favorite resorts. Along with cozy, private areas these cabanas offer some top-tier amenities (just like the resorts they’re located at) like private plunge pools and personal butlers. One & Only Palmilla

Cozy up all day (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) in one of three private coves complete with a floating net bed and a private palapa area with a floating bed. Cabanas include pool concierge services via mobile phones so guests can request anything they may need, from water bottles, fresh towels and face moisturizers to a tasty lunch and more.

Thompson Playa del Carmen

Skip the beach and post up on the 30,000-sq.-ft. rooftop at Thompson Playa del Carmen which includes a rooftop pool; two dining outlets, CATCH and Cinco; and five standard and two premium cabanas, both which include a food and beverage credit. The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort

Located at the Adult Pool, the resort’s eight cabanas include a TV, a DVD player, an iPod station, a phone, WiFi, a minibar and the luxurious services of pool butlers who can provide anything from wet towels, smoothie tasters, fresh fruit, sunscreen, magazines, books, sun glass wipes and body spray to fresh food and beverages from the resort’s Marietas Restaurant. And if you decide to wander away from your cabana for a little sun, the pool’s surrounding surface area is made of locally gathered marble, a unique material that always remains cool no matter how hot it may get, so you can stay cool even outside the cabana.
