A Luxury Nickelodeon Resort is Coming to Mexico

If you have kids who are big fans of Nickelodeon and all its quirky characters, then you’ll have another reason to head to Mexico next year. Opening spring/summer 2019, Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya will be Mexico’s first and only Gourmet Inclusive Nickelodeon resort complete with all oceanfront swim-up suites, infinity-edge pool penthouses and one of the destination’s largest water attractions. Karisma Hotels & Resorts and Viacom International Media Networks are the team behind the fun resort which follows up on the successful Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana.

The new Riviera Maya location will feature an open layout, custom artwork and contemporary decor with a whimsical touch. A grand lobby will welcome guests to the resort that will have two six-story buildings set between palm trees and an indigenous mangrove environment. The resort will offer 276 oceanfront swim-up Pad Suites and Flat Suites but its four Penthouses are what will the steal the show. The spacious accommodations will be located on the top floor of two modern six-story buildings and are completely decked out in Nickelodeon-themed decor. Designed after different characters and content like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants, the penthouses will be a haven for Nickelodeon-crazed youngsters. Not to mention the Penthouses come with infinity-edge pool swim-up access and oceanfront views of the property’s beach along the Caribbean Sea to cater to adults’ desires too.

The highlight of the property will be the nearly 500,000-square-foot Aqua Nick, which features a lazy river, waterslides, a splash park, an interactive water playground for toddlers and mini relaxation pools. For the ultimate Nickelodeon experience, Nickelodeon Place is located in the heart of the resort and welcomes guests of all ages to meet and mingle with characters like Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There is also Club Nick, a hangout for kids; Plaza Orange, for music, games and tropical fun; and Mainstage, a theater for hosting an array of immersive entertainment experiences. Other amenities include a fitness center and spas that include kids’ treatments, al fresco areas and more.

For dining, the resort doesn’t disappoint. Under Karisma’s industry-leading Gourmet Inclusive Experience, six restaurants will offer a variety of cuisine, from the seafront Yacht Club to an authentic Mexican cantina at Espadin and fast meals and snacks at The Bikini Bottom. To drink, four bars, including The Bar, Bikini Bottom Bar, and two swim-up bars, will serve up crafty drinks from sommeliers and expert mixologists while the Lobby Bar will be perfect for the whole family featuring music, entertainment, broadcasting of live sporting events and a social atmosphere.
