Fashion Designer Kris Goyri’s Capsule Collection Inspired by Mayakoba

In Architecture & Design, Play, Playa del Carmen & Tulum by Suzanne Koch

What’s better than blending high fashion with the beauty of Mexico? Not a whole lot, and that’s exactly what Mexican designer Kris Goyri did for his most recent capsule collection. Mayakoba invited the designer to draw inspiration from the nature, architecture and surrounding landscapes of the resort development to create a dreamy and fresh collection with an elegant resort feel.

“The collection was inspired by a natural reserve, I was inspired by the flora and specifically by some of the mythical birds that live here. It is a collection dedicated to the resort, to create a woman who revives in this paradise” Goyri adds.

Born in Mexico City, Goyri graduated in 2007 from the Institute of Advanced Studies in Fashion “Casa de Francia” in Mexico City and then went on to designing women’s ready-to-wear clothing. In 2008 he was chosen to receive Elle magazine’s international award for “New Mexican Talent” and has since been featured in high-profile fashion magazines like Elle, Bazaar, Vogue, Glamour, In Fashion, Glow, Caras and NYLON, among others. In 2009 he completed a Master’s degree at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Barcelona. He currently lives in Mexico City where he designs fresh and feminine collections.
