Frida, if You Were Alive, What Would Your Style Be?

Having such high standards as one of Mexico’s top fashion designers, Alejandro Carlín presented his women’s collection based on Frida’s style, drawing inspiration from how her modern-day style might be if the artist still lived today. Carlín was born in Mexico City and at a young age he found his passion for fashion design. He studied in Milan and London and afterwards returned to his country in Monterrey where he immediately started his brand “Lola of Alejandro,” which was launched to the national and international market.

Since the beginning of his career, Alejandro Carlín has shined in only successful events. He has been a part of different fashion events like Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico, Fashionista MTV, International Designers Mexico, Sony Mexico Top Model and many more. He has also dressed national and international celebrities like Chiara Ferragni, Ana de la Reguera, Paulina Rubio, Eva Longoria, Kate del Castillo, Edith González, Báraba Mori and more.

Carlín is consistently impressing through his brand that reinvents itself by creating new textures and new ways to connect women with elegance, sophistication and a great taste for fashion. Lola of Alejandro can be found in stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, CLÉEO Studio, Bloom Park Plaza, Mexico Couture and in his showroom in Mexico City, located on Goldsmith 38, Polanco, DF.

Always refined and re-inventing, Alejandro launched “Alejandro Carlín” in 2011, the brand’s premium line focusing on designing fine and beautiful clothes for contemporary, sophisticated and elegant women who that like to dress up. The 2016 collection reflects Frida’s contemporary style. Alejandro Carlín shows that the inspiration for it was born from the question: Frida, if you lived today, how would your style be? He understood that a woman like Frida was full of folklore, detail-obsessed and in love with perfection and colors. The fun, yet absolutely refined collection re-interpreted this with clean silhouettes and bright colors.
