September is National Honey Month, the month that marks the end of honey collection season for many beekeepers. To make the month even sweeter, these Mexico resorts are offering up different ways to celebrate the bees through unique amenities and experiences.

Wine Bath: If you love wine so much so you’d bathe in it, well now is your chance. At Barceló Ixtapa, guests can immerse themselves in a tub filled with red merlot wine and honey. Antioxidants from the wine and the nutrient benefits from the honey result in softened, moisturized and rejuvenated skin.

The Mezcamiel: Sip up this specialty cocktail at all four on-property bars at Barceló Huatulco. The cocktail is a mix of honey, mezcal, freshly squeezed lemon juice and orange juice.

Sanctus Lotus Expedition: Visit Barceló Maya Grand Resort to embark on this experience that takes you through the archaeological zone of Chunyaxche followed by a gastronomic workshop of regional food, a visit to a temazcal and cenote and topped off with a typical Mayan dinner. During the experience, you’ll have the chance to try honey produced by the native Melipona Bees straight from the bee farm.

Vallarta Botanical Gardens: The second largest botanical garden in Latin America, just 10 minutes from Barceló Puerto Vallarta, observe several spots where natural bee pollination occurs throughout the 64-acre gardens.

The Mayan Sacrifice: Quench your thirst at Occidental at Xcaret Destination with this cocktail that features Xtabentún, a traditional liqueur from the Yucatan Peninsula, made from anise and honey extracted from Xtabentún flowers which are native to the area.
