For those looking for a true escape from it all, the magical island getaway of Isla Holbox in the Mexican Caribbean is calling.

Often referred to as a “mini Tulum” due to its laidback, bohemian vibe, Holbox is a small, car-free island located on the northeastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. This tropical paradise is known for its stunning beauty and charming atmosphere, making it a popular destination for travelers seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The island attracts artists, creatives, nature enthusiasts and wellness seekers, where eco-friendly and sustainable outdoor activities abound.

Beyond boasting beautiful white-sand beaches hugged by turquoise blue waters, Isla Holbox is home to over 300 species of birds—including bright pink flamingos!—where some of Mexico’s most breathtaking and colorful sunsets can also be found.

The absence of cars helps to maintain the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere of the island, making it a unique and charming destination. Hop on a golf cart, rent a bicycle or go on horseback riding tour to explore the island.
