Located in Colima street #161 (one of the trendiest streets at La Roma neighborhood), this restaurant presents a different concept for sushi, nigiri and Japanese food lovers: hand rolls.

Led by renowned Japanese chef Hiroshi Kawahito, San-tõ Hand Roll Bar offers a new approach to traditional dishes like nigiris and rolls. I had the pleasure if visiting them last Thursday for dinner. The space is perfect for a quick bite or a nice long dinner with friends, since there’s a bar surrounding the chef’s work space or there are cute tables to enjoy the night under the moon light.

You can see every detail and observe the creative process behind your meal drink, an amazing experience for those of us who are curious and like to ask lots of questions before trying the first bite. We started off with a sake and lychee cocktail mixed by the experienced bartender since the drinks are also kind of their specialty. One of our favorite dishes were the Hiroshito Peppers a mixture of Mexican and Japanese cuisine that resulted in a perfect creation. We tried miso soup and different types of hand rolls, as the name says it, they encourage you to eat it with your own hands, a suggestion that involves the 5 senses while eating the roll and makes it a completely different experience.

A definitely must visit restaurant if you like Japanese food, but don’t worry if you don’t feel like going to a restaurant yet, San-tõ Hand Roll Bar has different options like pick-up or delivery. They also have and alliance with CLEAN19, a company that sanitizes the space constantly and of course take all the hygiene and safety measures to protect their clients and staff.
