It’s Christmas in paradise which means Velas Resorts is celebrating in a big way. The Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit locations are all joining in on the festive fun with holiday-themed activities, Christmas trees to decorate and toys delivered to suites.
Before arrival, guests are able to choose their preference of ornaments and tree toppers for the Christmas tree that is delivered to the suite upon arrival. Guests can choose for it to be pre-decorated or opt to decorate it as a family with ornaments and festive decor. In addition to decorations, guests can pre-select from an online gift shop the types of gifts that will appear on Christmas Eve thanks to the Velas elves. Everything from Barbie dolls, Angry Birds gear, Legos and more is available. Guests also have the option to donate toys online to the Center for the Caring of Children with Cancer, a non-profit institution dedicated to serving children and teenagers with cancer.
At Velas Vallarta, guests will find special ornaments on their trees from the magical state of Michoacán, a state located in the lush mountains of Mexico where Christmas never ends. As a big producer of handmade ornaments for Mexico, the U.S. and Canada, Michoacán also features a Christmas tree that stays up year round. The small village shops of Michoacán are stocked with hand-painted, unique ornaments with dazzling colors and shapes and this year, at Velas Vallarta guests are able to take these ornaments home while children have the opportunity to decorate their own Michoacán-inspired ornaments.
The resorts will also host a variety of activities including daily-themed shows, drive-in movies, Mexican posada, Santa’s workshop and more.
