Hotel Casa Ticul in Playa del Carmen

In Architecture & Design by Isabella Moreno

Located at the famous Fifth Avenue of Playa del Carmen, this boutique hotel is a small space that will receive you with the ideal service to enjoy the Caribbean area without any concern. It was built by the architect Ricahrd Köhler, and is a space in an ideal location that contains Mexican folklore and Yucatecan taste.

Casa Ticul is inspired by the tropical life of traditional Mexico, the nostalgia of the original family who started the Hotel, “Los Cuevas,” and the love for the Yucatecan land. The same love for modern architecture and the natural materials can be seen throughout the main features of the hotel like the rooms with balconies, interior patios, vegetation and traditional tiles. The friendly presence of the Caribbean, art, music and nature can also be felt here but above all things, the greatest inspiration will always be Mexico.

The Hotel Casa Ticul has a boutique shop with regional pieces like Yucatan blouses and embroidery, decorative objects and personal items. The hotel has a terrace for breakfast, a lounge called “The Grandfather” lounge to relax and read, a terrace with space for sunbathing, a swimming pool and three different types of rooms. It is the ideal place to vacation with family or with your partner. The location allows you to walk through the city and the beach. Definitely a privilege!
