Marika Vera: “Better than Naked”

In Architecture & Design by Isabella Moreno

Marika Vera creates the minimalist sensuality that every contemporary woman needs all over her body. Started in 2010 as a brand of luxury lingerie designed and created by the designer Marika Vera. All her work is hand-made silk garments. The women of Mexico are loving all her designs, las well as all the woman that have been in touch with the boutiques of New York, London, Los Angeles and Sydney. After the resounding success in 2014 Marika Vera delights us with his line “Signature” by Marika Vera.

She made classic designs with perfect lines in the  exact place to exploit the sensuality and does not detract from the strokes of the garment, or of the body. The female stroke of Marika Vera generates sensuality in the person who wears it and expectation in the observer. The lingerie that designs generates dialog between people, the body which carries her work actually speaks. Marika Vera exploits the sensuality and the female power, without falling into the romanticism of which contemporary women are bored of. “Signature” creates inner power from clothing to wear at the office to the light strokes for the intimacy or just for the simple pleasure of being. That is why it has defined the brand and is located in social networks under the motto #betterthannaked.

Both the creative process and production of each piece in the collection is developed in the Workshop and showroom which is located in Mexico City. Occurs with the highest quality materials and with all the determination and care to each detail to create the most accurate garments with more delicate and minimal structure. The collection is all about  lines that join the body without compromising the eroticism of the same clothing. Some celebrities who have used the creations of Marika Vera are Rihanna, Daisy Lowe, Jessie Ware, Naomi Harris and Emily Ratajkowsky.

Marika Vera studied Fashion Design at the Marangoni Institute in London. She has experience of four years in Mexico City as an Image Consultant and Fashion Stylist. During her studies  show worked with Pauric Sweeney and Giles Deacon. Thanks to her talented final college collection  she got a job with Vanessa Bruno, where she worked for a season.

“My designs are made for the modern women of today, which
has a natural approach to sensuality“.
