Salon Acme at Mexico City

In Architecture & Design by Isabella Moreno

Since the highly-aniticpated art week in Mexico City is finally here, we want to present some of our favorite spaces to visit during these next days and any time of the year.

It is well known that Mexico City is a growing, powerful area in terms of art production and dissemination and has been compared to many of the art capitals around the world. This is demonstrated by the fact that Mexico City will be the Design Capital in 2018.

One space that we love is Salon Acme, a space dedicated—since the last 5 editions—to the presentation of new proposals of art across the country. It is made up of a diverse range of artistic projects that have been completed or are currently undergoing development in Mexico. They exhibit the work of established artists as well as emerging artists, but the main objective is to show the work of artists who still do not have galleries that represent them. They create opportunities for artists making Salon Acme a much more dynamic concept, more open to different audiences and above all a space that teaches the passion and love for Mexican Contemporary Art. That’s why Salon Acme invites artists covering all different disciplines.

For all these reasons, this is one of our favorite spaces to visit and to get to know the freshest proposals while continuing to support the growth of the artistic production in Mexico. It is a space that is enjoyed in more than one way.
