Recipe: Aloe Vera Margarita

Freshen things up a bit with this summer-friendly cocktail from Casamigos, just in time for National Tequila Day on July 24.

Aloe Vera Margarita

  • 2 oz. Casamigos Blanco
  • 1.5 oz. Aloe vera juice
  • .5 oz. Fresh lemon juice
  • .5 oz. Aloe vera-infused syrup (see below)
  • Aloe vera leaf for garnish

Aloe Vera Juice: Bring 12 cups of water to boil in a large saucepan. Infuse fresh peeled aloe vera. Bring to simmer. Let soak for 20-25 minutes. Fine strain into another large saucepan. Add 12 cups of sugar and bring to a boil. Stir until fully dissolved. Let cool. Store in sealed container and refrigerate. Good for 3-4 weeks.

Directions: Combine all ingredients in tin shaker. Shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds. Strain into rocks glass. Add fresh ice. Garnish with aloe vera leaf.
