Expect to See These Big Names at the 2015 Los Cabos International Film Festival

If you’re headed out to the 2015 Los Cabos International Film Festival this week, expect to see some star-studded faces and groundbreaking films. Among those attending will be familiar face, Liam Neeson along with many other big names. The festival will present 45 films, of them: 19 Mexican films, 11 Latin American films and 4 world premieres. Read on to see who you can expect to see.

Jean-Marc Vallée
This year’s tribute will go to writer and director Jean-Marc Vallée. Vallée’s film Dallas Buyers Club was presented at the 2013 Closing Gala and in 2014 his film Wild was presented at the Opening Gala. This year, to coincide with the tribute, two of Vallée’s films, C.R.A.Z.Y. (2005) and Café de Flore (2011) will be featured at the festival as well as the Latin American premiere of his 2015 film, Demolition, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts.

Jared Leto
Well-known actor Jared Leto will be in attendance the opening night of the gala to award his friend and colleague, Jean-Marc Vallée, the Tribute award. Working together on the 2013 Closing Gala film, Dallas Buyers Club, Leto and Vallée make the perfect combination to respectively kick-off the 2015 Los Cabos International Film Festival.

Alex Ross-Perry
This 31-year old director, writer, producer and actor will be the focus of Spotlight, the festival’s new program. This series will zone in on artistic focus and North American filmmakers who have played a large role in making contemporary cinema what it is. The Listen Up Philip director will have his new film Queen of Earth make it’s Latin American premiere at the festival this year.

Ewan Mcgregor
Another actor and director that will be honored at this year’s festival is Ewan Mcgregor. Mcgregor will be awarded on Saturday, November 14 with The Protagonist award for excellence in acting. In addition to being honored, he will also present the special screen of Last Days in the Desert, in which he plays the lead role of Jesus and Satan in the story of Jesus’ last 40 days on earth. He is also well-known for his films Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge, Big Fish and the Star Wars Saga: Episode I, II and III.
