Award-Winning NYC Restaurant Brings Tastes to The Cape

In Dine, Los Cabos by Suzanne Koch

The highly acclaimed chef behind The Cape’s signature restaurant, Manta, is bringing his other culinary creations to the tip of the Baja. Enrique Olvera, who’s known for his knockout restaurants like Pujol in Mexico City, which is consistently a “top 20” restaurant included in San Pellegrino’s “World’s Best Restaurants” list, is now bringing his popular New York City restaurant, Cosme, to The Cape for a three-day long culinary event. A contemporary Mexican-inspired restaurant, Cosme was recently named by Food & Wine as a 2015 restaurant of the year. And on April 15-17, the “Cosme at The Cape” event will host the skilled culinary team from the Flatiron district restaurant who will be cooking up some of its most notable dishes.

Guests can look forward to an exclusive four-course dinner that will feature Cosme favorites like beets with charred corn salsa, farmer’s cheese, husk meringue, and corn mousse, as well as the ayocote bean salad with radish and charred cucumber vinaigrette. Along with Olvera, and Alex Branch, Manta’s Chef de Cuisine, Cosme’s very own Chef de Cuisine Daniela Soto-Innes—who was recently nominated for the 2016 James Beard Foundation Awards’ “Rising Star of the Year”—will help prepare the dishes.

The hotel’s rooftop bar, lounge and beer garden will also feature tastes of the big-city event. Cosme’s Beverage Director Yana Volfson and The Cape’s head bartender Osvaldo Vazquez will be serving Cosme-inspired cocktails during the first two days of the event.

The four-course dinner is $80 per person or $120 per person with wine and cocktail pairings.
